Creating bundles

Bundle examples

These recipes show how to build common bundles with BundleM8. Each uses a coffee store selling 250g bags of six coffees, M8 Blend, Seasonal, Decaf, Ethiopia Single, VNZ Single and Brazil Single, each in three grinds. Swap in your own products.

House blends trio

A fixed bundle at a discount. Three blends sold together at 15% off. Customers can't change what's included.

  1. Create a bundle called "House Blends Trio".
  2. Turn on Bundle-wide discount, choose Percentage and enter 15.
  3. Save, then select + Add product group and title the group "What's included".
  4. Select Add products → Add fixed products and choose M8 Blend, Seasonal and Decaf (Ground).
  5. Save the bundle.

On the storefront, the three coffees are listed with ticked checkboxes that can't be changed, and the total shows the discounted price.

Choose any three

Mix and match with a fixed number of picks. Customers choose exactly three of six coffees and get 20% off.

  1. Create a bundle called "CoffeeM8 Samples" with a Percentage bundle-wide discount of 20.
  2. Add a product group titled "Choose 3 packs".
  3. Select Add products → Add optional products and choose all six coffees (Ground).
  4. In the group's Settings, set Minimum selections and Maximum selections to 3.
  5. Save the bundle.

Customers see six checkboxes. If they try to add the bundle with fewer or more than three selected, the group shows a message and the bundle isn't added. Turn on Show selection hints on the Bundle Selection block to show "Choose 3." under the title.

Tip

A range works too. For example, a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 lets customers build a bundle of two, three or four coffees. The bundle summary shows the price range this creates.

Buy two, get one free

Different prices for different groups. Customers choose two coffees at full price and a third for free.

  1. Create a bundle called "Buy Two, Get One Free". Leave Bundle-wide discount off.
  2. Add a product group titled "Select 2 bags". Add all six coffees as optional products and set the minimum and maximum selections to 2.
  3. Add a second product group titled "Select your free bag". Add all six coffees as optional products and set the minimum and maximum selections to 1.
  4. In the second group, select each coffee and set its Price to 0.
  5. Save the bundle.

Customers pick two coffees with checkboxes, then one free coffee with radio buttons. The cart shows the free coffee at $0.00.

Why not use a discount?

A bundle-wide discount applies to every product equally, and locks product prices. When some products need a different price, leave the discount off and set prices on the products instead.

Choose your grind

A conditional bundle. Customers choose a grind first, then three coffees in that grind. This uses a condition group, which needs a plan that includes them.

  1. Create a bundle called "Grind Your Way".
  2. Select + Add condition and title the condition group "Grind setting".
  3. Create the three product groups, nested under the condition group:
    1. Open the condition group's menu and select Add product group.
    2. Title it "Whole bean", add the six whole bean coffees as optional products, and set the minimum and maximum selections to 3.
    3. Repeat for "Plunger" and "Ground", with the matching coffees.
  4. On the condition group's card, select Add branch three times to add branches labelled "Whole bean", "Plunger" and "Ground". For each one, choose the matching group under Select a group.
  5. Save the bundle. Check the structure in Tree view.

Customers see the three grind options. Choosing one shows the six coffees in that grind. Changing the grind swaps the coffees and clears the earlier picks.

This bundle has 60 unique combinations (3 grinds × 20 ways to choose 3 of 6 coffees) from 18 linked variants.

Show it as a grid

This bundle works well in the grid layout: three grind options across, with product images for the coffees below.

Add-ons for a specific product

Extra options that only appear for one choice. Customers choose a brewing kit, and a group of filter papers appears only if they choose the pour-over kit.

  1. Add a product group titled "Choose your brewer" with your brewers as optional products, minimum and maximum 1.
  2. Open the group's menu and select Add product group to create a nested group titled "Add filter papers".
  3. Add your filter papers as optional products. Set the minimum to 0 so the add-on is optional, and the maximum to 1.
  4. In the nested group's Settings, set Only show when this product is selected to the pour-over kit.
  5. Save the bundle.

The filter papers appear only when the customer chooses the pour-over kit. Because the minimum is 0, the group also shows a No selection option.
