Creating bundles
Managing bundles
Once your bundles are set up, you manage them from the BundleM8 app and your Shopify admin. This page covers finding bundles, changing their status, editing and deleting them, and tracking changes.
The bundles list
Open Bundles in BundleM8 to see all of your bundles, with each one's title, SKU and status. Use the Search field to find a bundle by name, and select a bundle to open it in the bundle editor.
If you've reached your plan's bundle limit, a Bundle limit reached banner appears and you can't create more bundles until you upgrade or remove some. See Plans and billing.
Bundle status
A bundle's status comes from its product in Shopify:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active | The bundle can be bought on sales channels it's published to |
| Draft | The bundle is hidden from customers. New, duplicated and recovered bundles start as drafts |
| Archived | The bundle is archived in Shopify and hidden from customers |
To change a bundle's status, select View Shopify product in the bundle editor and change Status in Shopify. BundleM8 updates within a few moments.
Draft and active bundles both count towards your plan's bundle limit.
Paused bundles
Bundles can also be paused by BundleM8 when a plan change leaves you with more bundles than your new plan allows. Paused bundles can't be bought until you choose them again on the Choose your active bundles page, or upgrade. See Downgrading.
Editing a bundle
Open the bundle from the Bundles list, make your changes, and select Save. Your storefront updates a few moments after saving.
Bundles already in carts
Removing or reordering products in a bundle that customers already have in their carts can change what's in those carts. For major changes to a popular bundle, consider duplicating it and making the changes on the copy.
What you edit where:
| In BundleM8 | In Shopify |
|---|---|
| Title and SKU (synced both ways) | Title and SKU (synced both ways) |
| Groups, products and branches | Description and media |
| Prices and bundle-wide discounts | Status and sales channels |
| Collections, tags, vendor and product type | |
| SEO and theme template |
Leave bundle variants alone
Don't add, remove or edit the bundle product's variants or options in Shopify. BundleM8 manages them and will undo changes on the next sync.
Deleting a bundle
To delete a bundle, delete its product in Shopify:
- Open the bundle and select View Shopify product.
- In Shopify, select More actions → Delete product and confirm.
BundleM8 removes the bundle when Shopify tells it the product was deleted. This can't be undone.
To take a bundle off sale without losing it, set its product to Draft or Archived instead.
Activity log
Open Activity in BundleM8 to see a record of changes to your bundles, products and subscription. Each entry shows the date, category, source and details. Select View bundle on an entry to open the bundle it relates to.
Filter the log by Category:
| Category | What's recorded |
|---|---|
| Bundle | Changes to your bundles, including those made by BundleM8 after a plan change |
| Product | Changes to products inside your bundles that BundleM8 applied automatically, such as price or title updates |
| Subscription | Changes to your plan |
The Source column shows where each change came from:
- You: a change you made in BundleM8.
- Shopify: a change made in your Shopify admin, which BundleM8 picked up automatically.
- BundleM8: a change BundleM8 made itself, such as pausing bundles after a plan change.
The activity log is useful when a bundle's price or contents changed unexpectedly. It shows whether the change came from an edit in BundleM8 or a product update in Shopify.
Bundle performance
The dashboard's Performance (last 30 days) section shows the number of orders that included a bundle and the revenue from bundles. Figures are recorded when orders are paid.
