Installing BundleM8

BundleM8 installs from the Shopify App Store and runs inside your Shopify admin. There's nothing to download and no theme code to edit.

Install the app

  1. Go to BundleM8 on the Shopify App Store and select Install.
  2. Review the permissions BundleM8 needs and select Install to approve them.
  3. Shopify opens BundleM8 in your admin, on the app's dashboard.

You can open BundleM8 at any time from Apps in your Shopify admin sidebar.

Permissions

BundleM8 asks for these permissions when you install it:

PermissionWhy BundleM8 needs it
Cart transformsAssembles each bundle from the customer's selected products in the cart
ProductsCreates and updates bundle products, and stores each bundle's setup on the product
PublicationsPublishes bundle products to your sales channels
InventoryKeeps each bundle product's stock in step with the products inside it
OrdersRecords bundle sales for the dashboard's performance figures

Choose a plan

BundleM8 bills through Shopify, so charges appear on your regular Shopify invoice. Open Subscription in the app to choose a plan, then approve the charge on the Shopify screen that follows.

Plans differ in how many active bundles you can have, how large each bundle can be, and whether condition groups are included. See Plans and billing.

The dashboard

The dashboard is the first page you see when you open BundleM8. It shows:

  • Bundle compatibility. Whether your store meets Shopify's requirements for selling bundles. See Shopify bundle compatibility.
  • Setup guide. Three steps to get started: review compatibility, install the theme extension, and create your first bundle.
  • Bundle limit. How many bundles you've created out of your plan's limit.
  • Performance (last 30 days). Orders and revenue from bundles.
  • Resources. Links to this documentation and to video tutorials.

Select Create bundle at the top of the dashboard to start a new bundle.

Next steps

  1. Set up your theme so the bundle form appears on your product pages.
  2. Create your first bundle.

Uninstalling

You can uninstall BundleM8 from Settings → Apps and sales channels in your Shopify admin. Uninstalling cancels your subscription.

Bundle products stay in your store after you uninstall, but they can't be sold as bundles without the app: the cart transform that assembles them is removed. Set them to Draft or delete them in Shopify, and remove the Bundle Selection block and app embed from your theme.

Reinstalling

Shopify permanently disconnects bundle products from their app when the app is uninstalled, even if you reinstall the same app later. When you reinstall BundleM8, it recreates each of your bundles as a new Shopify product with the same title, groups and pricing.

After reinstalling:

  1. Recreated bundles are set to Draft, so nothing goes live before you've checked it. Review each one and set it to Active when you're ready.
  2. Copy anything you'd added in Shopify, such as the description, images, collections and SEO details, from the old product to the new one.
  3. Delete the old bundle products. BundleM8 leaves them untouched because they can no longer be managed as bundles.
